Bandai Spirits and Shueisha have rolled out a major collector's item for the Dragon Ball 40th anniversary celebration: the S.H.Figuarts Collection “Son Goku
The figure is based on Goku in his travel gear, an outfit pulled directly from a 1989 Weekly Shonen Jump 'Catchphrase Grand Prix' artwork. This marks the first time this specific look has been rendered as a fully articulated figure. Bandai has integrated a new “Dynamic-Movable Shoulder System” specifically designed to handle action poses like the Kamehameha.

Collectors will receive several extras in the set. These include two versions of the Nyoibo (one straight, one curved) and swappable cape pieces sculpted to look wind-swept. A dedicated history book detailing the S.H.Figuarts series is also packaged with the figure.
Sculpting duties were handled by Hiroyuki Nakazawa and Ren Kato from STUDIO-LOTUS. Yusuke Watanabe oversaw the creative direction for the piece.
Pre-orders begin today, Monday, January 26, 2026, and will run until March 31. Fans can secure the figure through Shueisha's S-MANGA site or via major bookstores. The official street date for the figure is set for October 23, 2026.
This launch continues the franchise's deep dive into its history. The announcement follows the recent Genkidamatsuri event, which teased further news regarding the Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol anime and a new game titled AGE 1000, both confirmed to feature fresh character designs from Toriyama.
