Ayumu Murase Joins Hell's Paradise Season 2 as Enigmatic Ninja Shija

The second season of Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku has officially introduced a major new voice actor, confirming popular talent Ayumu Murase in the role of Shija. Murase is set to voice the mysterious ninja whose gender remains undisclosed, a character who made their unsettling debut in episode 17.
Shija is a direct and dangerous link to the protagonist, Gabimaru, hailing from the same Iwagakure clan. The character is known within the clan as one of its most unhinged assassins and has been dispatched with the specific order to eliminate Gabimaru.
Murase made it clear how much this role meant to him, stating he pushed hard for the audition and went in “with all my heart and soul” because he “absolutely, absolutely, absolutely wanted to voice Shija.” He also hinted that significant hidden motives lurk beneath the character’s mask.

This addition builds on an already stacked voice cast for Season 2. Ryōta Suzuki is voicing Yamada Asaemon Shugen, Kōji Yusa handles Jikka, Maaya Uchida plays Kiyomaru, and Sayaka Ōhara is cast as Isuzu.
Kaori Makita is back directing the animation at MAPPA, with series scripts handled by Akira Kindaichi and production planning overseen by Twin Engine.
The season premiered on January 11, airing late night on TV Tokyo. Crunchyroll is managing the global simulcast, while streaming platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Lemino carry the series in Japan.
Yūji Kaku’s original manga ran on Shonen Jump+ from 2018 through 2021, chronicling the death row inmate Gabimaru’s dangerous quest for the elixir of immortality on a monster-filled island. Shija’s introduction signals a deeper dive into the secrets of Shinsenkyo.
