The TV anime adaptation of Takako Shimura's Scenes from Awajima released its main visual and second promotional video today, confirming the first audio preview of the opening theme, "blue hour," performed by Hana Hope. The new footage highlights the intense rivalry and emotional stakes at the Awajima Girls’ Opera School.
The key visual features the young women backstage, accompanied by the tagline, "The light and darkness of girls who dream." This immediately establishes the high-stakes environment where students struggle through friendship, jealousy, and competition to reach the spotlight.
The second PV focused heavily on the complex relationship between scholarship student Emi Okabe, voiced by Natsumi Fujiwara, and the elite Katsurako Ibuki, played by Ayumi Tsunematsu. The video flashed back to their past, showing Katsurako now serving as a teacher dealing with old regrets. The short clip of "blue hour" was layered over these tense moments, driving home the emotional core of the narrative.

Hana Hope commented that the song reflects how "the faint voice of the heart always guides us toward the next stage," tying the twilight setting of the 'blue hour' directly to the series' themes of transition and striving.
Production is handled by Madhouse. Morio Asaka, known for directing Cardcaptor Sakura and Chihayafuru, is helming the project. Kunihiko Hamada is designing the characters, and Yasuhiro Nakanishi is handling series composition. Harue Ohno is credited for color design, and Hideki Nakamura serves as art director.
Additional confirmed cast includes Niina Nakabayashi as Wakana Tabata, Yō Taichi as Kinue Takehara, and Ai Kayano as Ryōko Ueda. The series is set to begin airing on Fuji TV in April 2026. Shimura’s original manga previously won an Excellence Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival, and Yen Press just released the first volume in English last week.
