Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 4 Arrives April 4th; WIT Studio Takes Over Animation

Ascendance of a Bookworm is officially returning for Season 4, marking the series' first new installment in four years. The highly anticipated return is set to premiere on April 4, 2026, in Japan, bringing with it a major studio change that promises a significant visual overhaul for Myne’s continued pursuit of literature and political influence.
WIT Studio, known for Spy x Family, has taken over the animation production from Ajia-do Animation Works, who handled the previous seasons. A recently released key visual and trailer confirm the shift, showcasing the increasingly high-stakes political landscape Myne must navigate as her influence expands.
The fourth season is confirmed to run for two consecutive cours, totaling approximately 24 to 26 episodes. This extended run is crucial for adapting the entirety of Part 3 of the light novels, which is subtitled Adopted Daughter of an Archduke. Covering the full arc ensures the adaptation avoids rushing major world-building and court intrigue segments.

Director Yoshiaki Iwasaki is back at the helm. Aiko Minowa joins the production as the new character designer. Voice actors Yuka Iguchi and Sho Hayami are confirmed to return as Rozemyne and Ferdinand, respectively, anchoring the cast as the narrative dives deeper into court politics.
On the music front, Little Glee Monster will perform the new opening theme, titled Pages. The broadcast begins April 4 at 5:30 p.m. JST on Yomiuri TV and NTV, with Tokyo MX airing the season two days later. While international streaming details are unconfirmed at the time of reporting, Crunchyroll is the expected platform given its history with the franchise.
