Tsukimichi moonlit fantasy anime follows Makoto Misumi, who is summoned to another world by a Goddess to be its Hero. However, the Goddess is so shallow that she finds Makoto "hideous" and strips him of his title, banishing him to the literal "Edge of the World."

Left to die, Makoto is blessed by the Earth's Moon God, Tsukuyomi, with god-like power that overflows in this new world. Makoto builds a hidden demi-plane called the Demiplane (Asora), where he gathers outcasts and demi-humans to build a new civilization.

He eventually opens the Kuzunoha Company, a powerful merchant group, and balances his life as a teacher at Rotsgard Academy with his role as the secret ruler of a nation of monsters—all while the vain Goddess tries to use him for her own wars.

The series has become a staple of the genre due to its balance of world-building and satisfying "payback."
