Tsukimichi moonlit fantasy anime follows Makoto Misumi, who is summoned to another world by a Goddess to be its Hero. However, the Goddess is so shallow that she finds Makoto "hideous" and strips him of his title, banishing him to the literal "Edge of the World."
Left to die, Makoto is blessed by the Earth's Moon God, Tsukuyomi, with god-like power that overflows in this new world. Makoto builds a hidden demi-plane called the Demiplane (Asora), where he gathers outcasts and demi-humans to build a new civilization.
He eventually opens the Kuzunoha Company, a powerful merchant group, and balances his life as a teacher at Rotsgard Academy with his role as the secret ruler of a nation of monsters—all while the vain Goddess tries to use him for her own wars.
The series has become a staple of the genre due to its balance of world-building and satisfying "payback."
One of the most famous jokes in the tsukimichi moonlit fantasy anime is that Makoto’s level is displayed as "1," but he is actually so strong that he caused the system to have an "integer overflow."
His two main followers—the "Mirage Dragon" Tomoe and the "Black Spider of Disaster" Mio—provide top-tier comedy and absolute loyalty.
Fans love seeing Makoto solve problems through economics and trade just as often as he does with his massive mana blasts.
Starting with Season 2, the animation (handled by J.C.Staff) evolved to feature massive, world-altering battles, specifically the invasion of Rotsgard and the wars between the Hyumans and Demons.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The most direct comparison; follow Rimuru as he builds the Jura Tempest Federation.
Overlord: Features another "mastermind" protagonist building a nation of loyal, overpowered monsters.
The Eminence in Shadow: For fans who enjoy the "misunderstanding" trope where the lead is powerful but somewhat oblivious to the gravity of his actions.
How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom: If you enjoyed the economic and social reform aspects of Makoto’s merchant company.
