SERVAMP is an engaging supernatural action series centered on Mahiru Shirota, an ordinary high school student who values simplicity above all else. His meticulously organized life is thrown into chaotic complexity when he adopts a seemingly innocuous stray black cat he names Kuro. Mahiru soon discovers that Kuro is, in fact, Sleepy Ash, the Servamp of Sloth—one of the seven immortal servant vampires, each embodying one of the seven deadly sins. By forming an accidental contract with Kuro, Mahiru is immediately dragged into the hidden, volatile world of Servamps and their human masters, known as 'Eves.' The technical execution of the series is generally robust; the animation provided by Brain's Base and Platinum Vision is fluid during critical combat sequences, maintaining visual consistency throughout. Character designs are sharp and expressive, effectively conveying the varied personalities, particularly the contrast between Mahiru's earnestness and Kuro's profound listlessness. However, the pacing often feels rushed, a common challenge in 12-episode adaptations covering significant manga material. This velocity sometimes restricts the depth afforded to supporting Eves and Servamps, leaving several intriguing subplots feeling underdeveloped or abruptly resolved.
