I Parry Everything anime tells the story of Noor, a man who dreamed of being an adventurer but was told he had zero talent for any of the six official classes. Undeterred, he retreated to the mountains and spent 14 years practicing the most basic skill: [Parry]. He practiced it so many times—thousands of times a day—that he eventually became capable of parrying literally anything, from giant boulders to magical attacks.
The catch? Noor is so humble (and slightly oblivious) that he thinks he is still a useless F-rank adventurer. When he finally returns to the city and saves Princess Lynne from a high-level Minotaur, he treats it like he was just shooing away a stray dog. As he is pulled into the royal politics of the Kingdom of Clays, Noor continues to perform legendary feats of strength, all while genuinely believing he is barely scraping by. Along with Lynne and the stoic shield-bearer Ines, Noor accidentally becomes the kingdom's greatest protector.
The series has gained a massive following for its hilarious subversion of the "overpowered hero" trope.
The show thrives on the gap between Noor’s internal monologue (where he thinks he's a failure) and the reactions of everyone else (who think he is a god-like warrior).
Produced by OLM (Komi Can't Communicate, Berserk 1997), the animation during Noor’s parrying sequences is crisp and satisfying, turning a defensive move into an ultimate offensive weapon.
Unlike many isekai heroes who are gifted powers, Noor’s strength feels "earned" through 14 years of grueling, isolated repetition, making him a very likable underdog.
The relationship between Noor and his "apprentice" Lynne is wholesome, as she recognizes his greatness even when he cannot see it himself.
